I love the sound of my 7620 with custom made mahogany body with a
Seymour Duncan
JB in bridge and a Jazz in the neck, through my new
Bogner Uberschall
head and Mesa 4x12. I'd highly recommend any one of the items above.

Mine is my RG3120. It handles everything I throw at it. From metal to blues.

I haven't found one that shines in EVERY category yet, but this weekend I played a PRS Custom 24 thru a Line 6 Vetta. A LOT of character in that guitar. Pickups were versatile, responded very well to differences in picking and attack. Nothing sounded bad, just varying degrees of OMG. My only complaint was difficulty in accessing the higher frets (something that Jems do Very well
). If it weren't for the price tag, I'd probably consider getting one, but for now it's a pipe dream...

The best guitar that I've ever played was an American made BC Rich Gunslinger. It was a very light blue, similar to what Fender calls Daphne Blue. It was heavily used and was on sale at GC for $200.00. It had a single
bridge pup
that surprisingly had a lot of crunch. I played it through a Line 6 Flextone II head and used the INSANE setting. Man, that thing was awesome!! I must have played that thing for 2 hours at least. It rivaled all of the more expensive guitars that GC had. I still to this day don't know why I didn't buy it.

I would have to say the Gibson Zakk Wylde
Gibson Les Paul Custom
is the top on my list. A friend blew the cash on one & promptly brought it over to my house to play it threw my 1/2 stack. That guitar kick so much a$$, I didn't wanna give it back.
Out of all the strats I've played, NOTHING comes close to the SRV model! I'm in heaven everytime I pick one up.
Of course, I have to mention the old Ibanez JPMs too. Yummy tone!
The others guitars I happen to own:
1. UV777BK (w/ EMG707s in the bridge & neck, no middle pickup)
2. B.C.
Rich Warlock
(w/ a single EMG85 in the bridge)
3. ESP M107 (A newly acquired no-frills guitar & it plays wonderfully! EMG707s are on the way.)
***Yes, I'm a diehard EMG guy & they were kind enough to give me an endorsement because of it.
What can I say...I gotta preach the EMG gospel now!

My PGM10th is the best
sounding guitar
I've ever played. Through my set up anyway.
One of my
Patrick Eggle
LA+'s has a great tone too !
My old Washburn N3 had an awesome neck pickup and sound (when it worked)

My old custom built guitar I used to have. Thick sound, and it sustained like mad
, now gone though, I'd have loved to have heard it through my current rig, but, it's gone
Currently I like the sound of my main UV and the 2027...

I would say the best sounding guitar I have played is my
Brian Moore
i8.13. I don't really know what pickups are in it(I think some kind of duncans) but it sure sounds good through my set up. Any Brian Moore, for that matter, sounds great to me.

Had a bit of fun the other day. Went over to my friend's house (a beginner guitarist, who's father is a guitarist) and he let me try out his guitar. I open the case, and it's a REALLY old Telecaster copy. It's like, no name brand, but his dad set it up with Fender pickups (looks like
this
) and INSANELY low action. This thing felt, and sounded, like a dream. The kicker, he's running it through an old old old, no name brand, single channel (clean), tube
amp head
and cab (huge cab, only one speaker), that's also got a "bass" input. I have NEVER heard a nicer clean sound. I must have sat there for a good hour or two just switching from everything from funky
clean tone
, to warm jazzy tone, to all sorts of just beautiful tones. I was blown away!

I haven't tried as many as most of you here but my vote goes out to my Aria classical (still undetermined model or year of make)

For acoustics, my grandfathers alvarez, or my takamine nylon string take the cake as far as tone. they just have that vibe, good action, and wondeful intonation. As far as electrics, probably a tie betwen a 59 les paul, my 520 *im serious it plays like a dream* and a jem7vwh
