that's quite inspirational.

minor point: considering the effort he went to, it's a shame that the large output jack plate wasn't recessed.

Man, that's just insane!! To think that one person could make something so beautiful. But I do agree that it would've been perfect if he had actually recessed the output jack plate.

Re: By far the coolest thing I have seen in a while (Build UP PICS)

***** 2 cents warning *****

I'm with you other guys. It looks awesome but that jack plate looks amiss. If it were recessed it would be awesome. And I didn't like the butchering of all the mahagony on the back for the Variax either. Why make a killer looking guitar a Variax? (I guess because it's his and he wanted to) I'd have preferred mahagony covers on the back to match instead of the quilt maple or how would it have looked to stain them red too? The top was perfect though and the neck looks super cool. Makes those PRS quilt tops look like Wal-Mart specials.

The chrome bridge would have looked better in black since the red had some black in it and the zebra pickups didn't really work for me but those things are easily changed. I wonder how that bad boy plays.

I am jealous of his skills though. I assembled a Warmoth strat myself; I can't imagine making a guitar from scratch. Oh and the cutaways almost to the 24th fret is awesome too.

is that really how a PRS is made? I mean the neck goes so deep into the body?
I thought the neck was set below the neck humbucker.
