Can't wait to finish this guitar
I've been building guitars as a hobby for about 2 or 3 years. This is my latest re-creation of an Ernie Ball Music Man EVH style guitar. I haven't stained it yet, so use your imagination because this will be a very dark blue.
Swamp ash body
with 1/8" figured maple top. The pickups are a
Tone Zone bridge
and Breed neck. I can't wait to get this thing done and see how it sounds.

Re: Can't wait to finish this guitar
Are you going to route a trem cavity or is it going to be a dive trem only?
Jimmy
P.S.: I like the finish on it, I would simply clear it and put some
abalone binding
on the edges of the body.

Re: Can't wait to finish this guitar
The bridge is resting against the body like the original, I just need to drill and set the trem anchors and posts.
All I did was wet the top down for the pic. It's just natural wood right now, no finish.

Re: Can't wait to finish this guitar
the abalone binding would be very sweet. also if you can get the finish to stay like it is in the pic than that would be super orgasmic

Re: Can't wait to finish this guitar
I started to cut my own body (telecaster) and have to do the pickup routing. Looks good so far, bu i shy away from the neck. Thinking about getting a warmoth one. Are you doing your own necks?
Any tips?

I have not done any necks myself. The neck is something that takes way more accuracy than I could do myself. Also, for around $100 or so, I have found great necks either used or new that play extremely well. This one happens to be a new Mighty Mite neck.

Re: Can't wait to finish this guitar
Here's a picture of it now that it's been stained and had 4 cans of lacquered sprayed onto it. I feel like jumping into this guitar and swimming away...

That blue looks great man. Personally I would've left it natural, but you arent making it for me.
Looks great though.

Re: Can't wait to finish this guitar
Thanks guys. It's killing me to wait another 3 weeks for the lacquer cure until I can wire it up and see how she plays.

That blue looks great, good work!
Have you got a a better quality trem for it though, nice guitar like that deserves a good trem like an OFR/Schaller or Gotoh trem.

Re: Can't wait to finish this guitar
put bobbin topper and try the zebra look without changing the pickups, cheap and effective.
Nice guitar Man!!!
