I'm pretty sure Itaru (the guy who runs Caparison) has been asked several times before but I'll see if I can give him a solid business case on why he should do at least ONE lefty.

I can't see what the big deal is, they could make a limited run (say 25) and have a mark up of at least 25% and I bet they would all be sold instantly. Thanks for the effort though, I figured if he keeps hearing it from the dealers I can break him eventually, I already hounded Guitar Asylum Oh, and I would prefer a horus but a TAT or Del is fine.

Well if guitar companies work like most other production companies, a left handed model might have too high an initial overhead to make it worthwhile. If they haven't done it by now, then in all likelihood they won't unless something major happens.

I listen to quite a lot of Japanese music, I can't remember ever seeing one playing a left handed guitar, might just be a coincidence, but it is also quite possible that it also isn't as common there.

What can you guys say about the SH-N pickups? Do they really sound like full-size humbuckers? How are they wired, parallel or serial?

Caparison is one of the few, if not the only guitar company who has never offered a left hand guitar, all major companies do, even the more boutique companies will do em like Shur, Viger, and LAG, I even recall asking Bo-El and they would too.

It is actually easier for the boutique places to do it, they are building by hand anyways because their production is in house. Caparison is kind of weird, they seem to be a boutique scale company that contracts production out of house, I think Lida Gakki, or something like that, but I'm not sure.

I'm not saying they will never do it or shouldn't. However, considering how long they have been around without doing it, it doesn't seem very likely they will unless they get a left handed guitarist endorsement. Caparison doesn't seem to be like Vigier where someone will buy a stock guitar that hasn't been built yet, they seem to need to have the guitar out there and ready for people to buy and that requires overhead capital they might not have to do a left handed guitar.

In my oprinion the SH-27 sounds kind of muddy. I am throwing a Fast Track 2 in the neck of my Horus whenever I get around to wiring it up.

The SH-Ns are very much like real humbuckers. I'm still not entirely sure how the coil splitting works. When the guitar is in coil split mode, the output is reduced. So the coil split mode works best for clean sounds. Normally all the pickups are pretty high output.

I want to thank all you guys for the input you've provided and helping me turn this GAS into a reality.

I would like to announce that I am now a proud owner of a Caparison TAT Frozen Sky. It's due to arrive on Friday.
