Carvin Bolt or Valley Arts Custom Pro?

Hey guys! I just started to think this since I am buying a new guitar and saw this baby on evilbay.

http://cgi.****.com/Valley-Arts-Cust...QQcmdZViewItem

I've been looking for a Carvin for some time and before this I was 100% sure that I'm gona buy a Carvin Bolt model. But since I saw Steve Lukather using Valley Arts guitars I wanted to have VA myself really badly. You know, Valley Arts custom pro guitar is my ultimate dream guitar and this one on evilbay looks really great! Basicly Carvin Bolt model would be really close to this one. Only some small differences on specs. Well that Valley Arts Custom Pro's starting price is 1399 dollars and its price might increase pretty much and Carvin Bolt model with my specs would cost about 1050 dollars.

Carvin would be really awesome guitar but Valley Arts is my dream guitar and I believe that VA has a lot better resale value but I don't think I would sell it. So what do you guys think, which one I should get? Give me some opinions and tips. I have to ask from dad too what he thinks of this.

VA are great guitars, I've never owned one, but I have played a few. Pre-samick VA is IMHO a much better guitar than the Carvin Bolt. Not that I think anything is wrong with Carvin, I just think the VA is a whole lot better. Almost like comparing Fender to Suhr. VA being Suhr.

Then again, there are many satisfied guitarists playing Fender out there.

I guess VA guitars are pretty much on the same level with Suhr and Tom Anderson guitars. And that Valley Arts on e-bay doesn't seem to cost too much and I have seen them going over 2000 dollars. But I haven't heard anything about these Gibson VAs, are they as good as old pre-Samick models?

Valley Arts guitars are great but the headstock never appealed to me. I would buy it sand the neck and on with the tung oil .

I wouldn't say that that VA is on a par with a Suhr, but I'm sure it's nice. The older ones, from the 80's, might be a different story. Also, I believe Steve Lukather plays EBMM Steve Lukather model guitars (The Luke, specifically)....

Yep, nowadays he plays EBMM Luke guitars. And about the headstock, I actually like it a lot. Probably because I'm a huge Lukather fan so the headstock doesn't really bother me at all.
