Carvin DC-127(L)
Anyone have one? I just ordered it at Daddys and I'm about to go put a deposit on it to check it out..I know its neck through (yummy!) not sure if its ebony or not, but I can't wait to see what this neck profile is like..I've been wanting a non-floyd guitar for a while..oh, and its a whopping $399!

Re: Carvin DC-127(L)
The neck-profile is more traditional. I'd refer to this as C-shaped. It's very different than the flat Ibby necks. The wood in the pic you posted looks like rosewood, to me, but the standard wood is ebony, so I could be wrong.
But that's wonderful that you're getting this, man! I'm actually designing one right now. I hope to purchase it this year. I think I'm going to go for a purpleburst finish.

Are they compound necks?

Re: Carvin DC-127(L)
That one looks like the "old model", when Carvin used compound radius.
Now, they offer 12" radius by default, with option to go 10" or 14".

Re: Carvin DC-127(L)
Even the pickups are decent. Only 1 thing I can complain about it, is the fret ends are a little sharp, but thats a easy fix. The controls are going to take some getting used to, the volume turns the other way than the rest of my guitars and the
pickup switch
is much farther away too.

Damn dude, this is one of the nicest guitars I have ever played, hands down, I dare say its as good (if not better!!) as my 3120. I could easily see this guitar cost 3x as much (after I ran the specs though the website it came to about $950). I am truly in awe over the quality, sound and feel of this guitar. And you guys know how hard I am to impress, so that should say something. I'm so impressed I'm actually thinking about ordering a 727 in the near future (with a birdseye maple board of course) They got one on the site already made for $1000 but its white, yuk! I seriously don't know why people are buying guitars like Schecter when they can get a guitar thats like 10x better for like $300 bucks more.
Maybe I'm getting old, but I actually don't miss the locking trem!!
But you think it would be worth it to get some Graphtech saddles?

i dont like the graphtech saddles at all, actually im a fan of ss saddles, but its about personal tone
my buddy has a vintage fender he put them on, and he threw out his old ones, thinking they were all corodded(they were nikel plated steel) and his graphtech came in, and put em on, and the sustain increased a little, like when u string a note it went on for a tad longer but had a long decay on it with little or no tone tho....but he wsa disapointed, and i read online other reviews and some rave about it and some dont
do you have any on other guitars what do you think??
and as for carvin, they love the strait radius since they have a pretty stompy foot on thier action guarantee
when i got my 727 active with alder/flamed maple stained black and
clear coat
ontop, and a maple/ebony neck with a flat 16 radius
man it was the best guitar i had...i was hurting for cash so i sold it
i had sd pickusp in there after i got it, and then put a bartolini, man....did it scream....the only thing i didnt like was on the active electronics, you had to be in full power on the trebble to get the tone u would get from for instance a 1 meg volume/500k tone passive setup
but carvin makes such awesome guitars, if it wasnt for the lack of headstock options, body options and fretboard options id probably have another instead of the warmoth
but they are great guitars, if only the holdsworth came in a solid body option instead of semi holobody with the pockets, id own one already
missing my carvins now....
