Cheap Resonator for blues beginner?

Title pretty much says it.

I've been playing electric for close to 3 years and just want to try something new, other than the rock etc that I normally play. Just to find some sort of new inspiration ya know.

I'm really into the likes of Robert Johnson and Son House

Just wondering if anyone could recommend me a cheap resonator guitar to learn on, that sounds fairly decent and isn't going to fall apart and I could easily acquire in the UK.

Thanks
-Sean

fender fr50? it's abt $350.00. prob not the best, but might do well for you, and doesn't cost too much. it's nice to see a robert johnson, and son house fan(most don't know much abt real delta blues these days).

Re: Cheap Resonator for blues beginner?

Thanks I'll definitely give that a look!

I'm still open to hear any suggestions from anybody else.

Also, if anybody would like to recommend me some more blues players for listening material, I would love to hear.

I found these Resonators by a company called Regal.

Anybody heard of them, or could recommend?

Regal (Saga) makes a nice guitar once you get into the RD-40 series. The RD-30 and RD-38 are beginner student models and lack projection and tone. The RD-38 is identical to the RD-30, but with gold hardware. The RD-40 has an upgraded sound chamber and is designed for advanced students to semi-pros on a budget.

Regal was one of the first companies to make resonators if i'm not mistaken. I've got a fender fr-50ce. It's a great resonator with an electric pickup in it as well. It sounds amazing. May want to look into that.
