Circle Fretting System???

Has anyone heard of this? I was looking for some LP copies (so I can trade my guitar for one) and I ended up at Fijugen guitars (http://www.fujigen.co.jp) and they came up with a Circle Fretting System, supposedly making the guitar and player sound better, has anyone got more info on this or heard of this?

I am familiar with it. I think JD had something to do with it as well.

It's an interesting concept. It never really occurred to me that because of the slight taper in the neck width, the strings don't hit the frets at exactly 90° angles, making the scale length slightly "off" the further you get from the middle of the neck.

Interesting indeed.

Only thing bothering me is that Darren doesn't look like I imagined... Pictures ruin the perfect imagination...

sounds like it would be more plausable than the buzz feiten(?) tuning system.

Yes but this system doesnt appear to be retrofittable at least not without completely redoing the fretboard of a guitar. I would like to see a guitar with complete intonation adjustment across the board on ALL frets. You wouldnt be able to do bends though, but it seems like an interesting concept at least

Re: Circle Fretting System???

Sure, not a stupid idea. That won't make the intonation perfect though; there are more flaws with the guitar. Buzz Feiten is just hype, moving of the nut, lotsa money spent and stretched tunings. You can get all the details at the US Patent office's site. Just search for Feiten and you should find the patent application/docs after a while.
