Custom Shop USA BC Rich on the way-(pic)

I'm a huge fan of Ibanez but also really love USA BC Rich's. I just sold a few bolt on BC's to fund this: 2002 custom shop Warlock, maple neck, ebony board, Mahogany wings, maple top, neck through body. Thought I'd post a pic. and see what everyone here thinks of it. I'm not a big fan of red guitars in general but the price was right plus I've really been in need of a guitar without a floating bridge for quite a while now.

BC Rich's Trans Red is pretty much my favourite finish. Used to have an NJ Beast with that colour and if I knew what I knew about guitars now I wouldn't have sold it. Just changed the bridge and been good to go.

I hate the warlock shape though

Re: Custom Shop USA BC Rich on the way-(pic)

I don't think I could deal with a BC Rich unless it had a Floyd. Tune-o-matics mash my palm.

Also I hear things about injuries and sores sustained from the sharp angles after long sets. Mick Thompson would say how he'd have big purple marks and welts on his legs.

I never had any problems like that with my beast and that's a fair bit bigger, heavier and sharper than the warlock.

Mayhaps Mick is a pansy?

Actually physically ending up with purple legs is nothing to do with a pansy. Not that I care to defend him, I'm no 'knot fan.

Depends how you hold and stand with it and stuff I guess. I remember when I tried a Warlock I found the shape quite awkward. Each to their own. Nice looking axes though.

Re: Custom Shop USA BC Rich on the way-(pic)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll post more pics of it soon. I'm not thrilled about a tune-o-matic bridge but like I said, I am in need of a guitar without a Floyd. Every guitar I own has a floating trem. A deal too good to pass up was available to me to get this guitar..I'm sure you know what a guitar out of BC's custom shop costs (an arm and a leg). I'm def. a strat body guitar guy but I've owned Warlocks before and I find them comfortable to play either sitting or standing plus they are balanced well and don't neck dive like Mockingbirds do.

Re: Custom Shop USA BC Rich on the way-(pic)

Now that I've had this for a bit, here's a quick review. It's plays great and it actually stays in tune! As for staying in tune, I've always had issues with that with non trem guitars. I'm used to double locking trems and the tuning stability that goes with them. It has a DiMarzio Super Distortion bridge pickup and a PAF in the neck. This guitar sounds, plays, and sustains excellent. Upper fret access is unrestricted too. Build quality is top notch, then again it better be coming out of the custom shop. I'll be using this for a show tonight. Here's a few more pics...

Here's a group shot with my other USA BC's...
