David Gilmour Custom Strat

For all you Gilmour and strat lovers, there is finally going to be a David Gilmour custom strat planned for release in 2008.

Like Ibanez, Fender have decided on black

Black Fenders look great though, like the 70's/80's ones with the black scratchplates. Ibanezs' look better in colours rather than black.

Re: David Gilmour Custom Strat

I personally dislike black guitars, no matter what brand.
Over the years David Gilmour has had a few different coloured strats. It would be good if they offered more than black though.

If they do stick with releasing a black one, i'm sure they will still probably sell a zillion of them. Everybody will be instantly wanting that Gilmour tone

In order to get the Gilmour tone you need to get his rig, amp and even then you still need david's fingers and touch. the guitar is not enough.

Yes i know, barbarelaxe. That's the reason i used the wink and poke tongue out icons. It wasn't meant to be taken in a serious context.

I wanted to add a wink as well but I never figured out how to add those to a post.

Is David Gilmour still using EMG's? I wonder if Fender is going to offer that guitar with their brand of pickups or if they are going to pur EMG's in there.

Re: David Gilmour Custom Strat

No he does not use EMG's anymore according to a article I read. He said he only used them to control the feedback from his monster pedal board. I wonder if the reason they finally gave him a sig is because he started sportin' a les paul.

In other words you just need to become DG . Start looking for a door people (being David Gilmour)!

Re: David Gilmour Custom Strat

Glad to see DG is finally getting a signature model. It should be the red one though, IMO. I wonder why we have to wait till 2008?

Any word what the pickups are?
