DC05. Building a 'RG custom Quilted'

Hi again...

how ibanez don't make guitars as i like, i will build them...
( or course, they are NOT for sale. i do not and i will do not bussiness with them. these guitars are for me )

this project is a Ibanez RG stile body with a vine inlay on neck. i will name DC05 'RG custom Quilted' (something like that):

specifications DC05:

- Body: big and thick maple quilted top with mahogany back.
- Neck: the spanish "luthier" neck work sucks, horrible. so I am waiting a new neck from ETGuitars.
- fingerboard: quilted maple.
- inlays: vine inlays in color black, red and abalone.
- Bridge: Ibanez Lo Pro Edge tremolo.
- Tuners: Gotoh.
- Pickups: humbucker Seymour Duncan JB red on bridge, and Dimarzio Fast Track 2 red on neck.
- hardware: Black.
- Finished: natural ambar or honey.

i bought all parts, woods, tools, and i began to build the body.

may be that i will do some little mistakes, but sure that they will be fixed.

here my other projects:

DC01 'Jem Woods': DC01 (this guitar is finished).
DC02 'Jem Intense Rock II': DC02 (this guitar is finished).
DC03 'Jem Fresno': DC03 (this guitar is finished).
DC04 'PGM Black': DC04 (isn't finished).
DC05 'RG custom Quilted': this thread (isn't finished).
DC06 'RG Swirl': DC06 (canceled).
DC07 'Jem Spanish Swirl': future project (of course, I reserved the number '07' for a Jem )
DC08 'JCR Custom Ghostrider #1': DC08 (this guitar is finished).
DC09 'JCR Custom Ghostrider #2': DC09 (this guitar is finished).

edit:

the neck was a problem, so I got one from Ernie.

best regards,
Dani.

I don't think the red goes well with your concept. I like the rest of it though. I look forward to finished photos.

???? sorry. i dont understand you.
do you talk about logo on headstock?
if yes,... it is only a photoshop and kisekae drawing. and it is not real. on the real guitar i dont know if i will put an ibanez logo. in other case, the logo will be correct.

Re: DC05. Building a 'RG custom Quilted'

holy moly, that is a thick maple top. like, nearly 2/3 of the guitar's body. i'd be interested in hearing how that sounds. i imagine it'll be pretty bright.

Re: DC05. Building a 'RG custom Quilted'

I assume it will shave down a bit, but I personally think it too thick.

yes... i suppose that it will sound bright. by this reason, i will put a Seymour Duncan JB. i think that this pickup has a little dark sound... uhmm... or no?

regards.

Re: DC05. Building a 'RG custom Quilted'

the neck (comes from a RGR580JBB blue):

edited:

the "luthier" destroyed my RGR neck.

so I had to make an order to ETGuitars for a new neck.
I am waiting for it. Ernie said me that its near to be finished (I hope).
