Edwards are great quality, but CHEAP. Go import one from Japan!

I spoke to Dana at ESP USA on Friday.
The reason Edwards is not released in the US is due to copyrights.

ESP USA is set up as a seperate company away from ESP Japan and Edwards.
This way the ESP US cannot be help accountable for violations made by the Japanese group.

He stated that the US has the toughest copyright laws.

He let me know several times that ESP USA is not affiliated with ESP or Edwards Japan.

Question, I can nab an Edwards Blackmore strat copy or a Warmoth strat in a really seksi honey-burst with nitro finish and BE maple neck.
They are a $100 difference between the two.
Which would you choose?
(I'd really like to play the Edwards before pulling the trigger and shipping it all the way from Japan)

mine : Edwards ECY130D, necktru with alder wings, very light, pickups from Seymour Duncan, original floyd rose trem.

playbility : thin fast neck...almost like Ibanez neck.
finish : satin like ibanez but more smooth...
sounds: still like ibanez, it's warm, smooth, nothing like ESP.. I played my friend's MII, it's nothing like Ibanez, the MII is pure metal.
So i guess the edwards ECY130D is just an Ibanez RG with 'other' label..
