Does an instrument like this exist?

I want to get myself a new guitar for no other reason than I want a new one. Just a regular GAS attack I guess. Is there a production guitar out there that has the following specs? I'd prefer not to have to pay the price of a custom instrument, especially because I don't even know if you can get such a thing here on the southern tip of Africa

Specs:
-Explorer body shape
-Active pickups (SD or EMG, doesn't matter)
-OFR
-24 Fret neck
-Electronics: 1 vol, 1 tone, 3-way swich

An ebony board with no inlays would be a plus, but I know I'd be pushing my luck adding that to the list Maybe warmoth is the only way to go here?

Does anybody any ideas or opinions? Is this a futile quest?

Closest I can think of is this

http://www.birdlandmusic.net/product...72&src=froogle

But its only 22 frets and rosewood fretboard.

Would a Xyphos and a pickup change do it??

Don't know about the availability to Africa though.

I've seen a couple of Xiphos's around, but the Edge III turns me off it a bit owing to the bad things I've read about it on here. A 24 fret LTD with a proper floyd would be absolutely perfect!

How about this?

Explorer shape - OK
EMGs - OK
Original Floyd Rose - OK
Ebony Fretboard - OK
24 Frets - OK
No inlays - Almost OK

Is the Epiphone Marcus Henderson "Apparition" Signature Guitar, here's a link to the Epiphone site:

Here's your answer:

http://www.rondomusic.com/ghost;pro6blk.html

no inlays, ebony board, 24 frets, EMG 81/85. It's got a licensed FR but from my friends that have this thing i hear it's pretty good. And for this kinda price you can easily swap it out.

Gibson no longer has a distributor anywhere in Africa - stupid move; it's not a big market, but there are sufficient buyers to keep stock moving and a few who really don't care what they spend.

Scott, I'd be inclined to look at ESP/LTD models around. I can't think offhand that I've seen one anywhere in stock but there are a couple of similar-ish models about.

Importing the parts and DIY may be your best bet. Instruments are duty free, so you'll end up paying postage, handling fee and VAT, which isn't too onerous.

Duty free! Omg are you sure? Because if they are, I think I am going to be giving my credit card a workout soon I was quite shocked when the guys at Music Connection told me there is no longer a distributor around here, found it very weird.

Anyways, thanks for the help guys

Sorry, this took a while to find.

Schedule 92.7 of the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 relates to instruments requiring amplification and specifically includes guitars. Rated at 'free' under General, EU, EFTA and SADC partners.

Acoustic instruments under Schedule 92.2 carry the same rating.

Apologies to your credit card in advance

Looks more like the Futura than the Explorer, but still, nice!
