The stripe on the back is done, just needs one lil triangle of paint by the heel and we're all set. And another pic shows the "natural binding", and top of the stripe. Enjoy!

The guitar was looking fine until you ghettofied it putting all that paint on the back....

I like the front though....

Haha. I don't see how painting the neck thru quilt maple stripe to match the top is ghettofying it, but thanks.

See, that's the thing. I also have NEVER been into LPs. I've liked the body shape, but that's about it. For me there are a lot of things "wrong" with LPs (for my taste anyway), and this is why I set about to do this project. To create what I consider the perfect LP. I just called it "dragonburst custom LP" in the thread cuz it's closest to that shape.

Les Paul - 24.75 scale, rosewood board (usually I think), 22 frets, set neck w/ heel, fixed bridge w/tailpiece, etc

Mine - 25.5 scale, ebony board, 24 frets, neck thru body, tonepros string thru body bridge, etc.

And other changes like the finish, headstock, the crazy stripe on the back of the body/neck, etc.

I'd probably have gone for a black painted back, but otherwise that's pretty much how I'd design a Les Paul

Thanks Jono! I dont mind black painted backs but I tend to prefer the wood grain to be as visible as possible. This mahogany is so beautiful, might as well show it off .

A non-sunlight pic. The inlays always come out different lookin' but this is the closest to how they actually look, I think.
