If you guys remember, I posted about grabbing a hardtail from a buddy...well I shipped it off to EBMM because the neck was twisty like pretzel. In any event, I got it back today and had them do a few other tweaks for me...I changed out the pickguard and pickups (pickups I did here with some DiMarzios [virtual hot paf bridge and
virtual paf neck] I grabbed from a certain tech friend) and had them swap the bent steel saddles for the blocks when they were building me a new neck (with the compensated nut to boot). This piece is now retarded good, it really plays like an old friend. Probably the best feeling EBMM that I own...and the most worn to boot...theres some dingage on the back in a couple of spots, but I got it used so I can't complain...but it's awesome nonetheless...
Here's the before...

Here's the after:
Here's an aside...and this is totally Fedex: The case is done for... Fedex must have throw the box around (the bottom of it was half open) something fierce....the top horn was pushed into the inside of the case foam (thru the furry lining) and theres some pressure dingage on the very top by the tummy cut. No big deal because there already was some light checking on the back...and this is a player piece, but I can't think of one shipper that actually takes time to do the right thing...had to cut my losses on arguing it with them because the guit plays well...and if it gets played it's gonna get relic'd so whatever. They ain't furniture...
Here's more on the neck:
Twisted and fecked from the previous owner...it had the fret sprout worse than the Jolly Green Giant...all the others that I currently possess/have owned had great necks...this one is about 6 or 7 years old tho...well now half of it is...hahahaha.
The neck had been satin poly'd too and the nut was improperly cut...when I took the strings off it actually fell out, the slot was a lil mangled and it had super dead frets on the egb strings from like 1-7 (with grooves actually dinged in on the 3rd and 4th) so essentially I got nothing out of those notes, not even sitar noise.
The new neck is BONKERS.
