Re: Eco friendly guitar
Considering the usual upcharge for envirnmentally friendly products the price isnt bad for a small company hand made guitar, it is ugly as Bruce Willis' daughter though. I thought this was funny
Shipping: This guitar must ship with the neck removed. 4 screws and minimal setup required.
Not only does it not come ready to play, but they dont even supply the
neck screws

Re: Eco friendly guitar
Suppose they started making a recycled wood RG, Who'd buy it then?
I like the idea, but its not my kind of guitar...

Re: Eco friendly guitar
I think it's hideous, too.
Building a green guitar is a good idea, though. I live on the Olympic Peninsula, home to one of the greatest forests on Earth, and there are guys out here who go out into the woods with a chainsaw and just butcher ancient maples to get the burls. Or not even the burls, heck, straight trunks as well. They will destroy an entire tree to get a burl or a couple chunks of nice figured wood that will make one or two guitars. It's a big problem.
Martin is doing some nice work building guitars out of sustainable tonewoods. I hope THAT trend continues.
Peace
Mike

Re: Eco friendly guitar
It does look quite awful. Makes you wonder what a great looking eco-friendly guitar would look like with the same salvaged wood. Just looking at it though, the reclaimed wood they found is really gorgeous. Kinda sad it was pretty much wasted...

Re: Eco friendly guitar
So, you folks don’t like my Stars & Stripes guitar? Well, you’ll be glad to know that it is a one of a kind. Everything I build is like that. It is only my first offering though, perhaps you like my second guitar, Eat Your Heart Out, better?
I am building four more now too. Just for fun, and have a blog detailing the process . Maybe you real luthiers will get a kick out of seeing how a self taught country woodworker tackles a guitar.
Mostly, though, thanks for the write up. I think it was Liberace that said, “ I don’t care what they are saying about me, as long as they are talking about me.”
