EPI LES PAUL IDENTIFICATION

I BOUGHT A USED EPI LES PAUL PLUS TOP IN TRANS BLUE. IT HAS CREAM/AGED BINDIN AND PICKUP RINGS. IT ALSO HAS A COUPLE OF OTHER THINGS I'M WONDERING ABOUT. THE T/R COVER HAS "GIBSON" ON IT. NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE. THE TUNING PEGS ARE NOT CHROME, THEY'RE THOSE GREENISH ONES THAT GIBSON LP STANDARDS HAVE, AND THE BACK OF THE HEADSTOCK SAYS EPIPHONE LIMITED EDITION. ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THESE SINCE THE SPECS AREN'T THE SAME AS THE OTHER EPI STANDARD PLUS TOPS. ALSO, DON'T KNOW THE YEAR IT WAS MADE EITHER.

Re: EPI LES PAUL IDENTIFICATION

The Epiphone boards should have a way to date it, they made a few different colors like that in the late 90s.
For awhile every Epiphone said Gibson on the truss rod cover, not sure why other than so people could say it sayd Gibson on the headstock on **** auctions.
Aside from the cosmetics its nothing special

Re: EPI LES PAUL IDENTIFICATION

Trussrod covers on Epiphones usually have Gibson on them actually. Or at least they used to.

Other than that, it should have a serial number?
That will usually tell you when and where it was built (there are websites where you can lookup your serial number directly, and get a pretty accurate answer right away). You can contact Epiphone with any questions about your guitar. They should be able to figure out the specs from their archives, based on the serial number.
