Epiphone Scroll Restoration, NOGD? :D
Ok, this kinda fell in my lap. Older friend of mine whos amp I fixed came by and said if I fix this I can have it :d I believe its an epiphone scroll?
Anyway, heres what Im startin with!
goals ->
- Restore the original parts (he gave me a bag of crap that had all the original bits). He said the original pickups were pulled out because one was dead? Not sure how a pickup would "die" or anything like that, they both seem to be fine. Id be willing to bet that the pickup wiring was shorted or something dumb. Easy enough check :d
- I need to figure out what the three toggle switches do, anyone know?
- restore the paint a little bit. looks like crap, and not in a "good" way (mistreated vs "well worn")
- Anything else?
Thoughts appreciated!

lol this guitar is a culmination of everything I dislike in guitars haha.
- short neck scale
- painted neck
- tiny tiny frets
- set/bolt neck? Its a set neck style that bolts in??? weird as hell...
- tune o matic
-"gibson"
the only redeeming factor is its MIJ

Re: Epiphone Scroll Restoration, NOGD? :D
Epiphone scrolls are unique guitars to say the least. I've only saw 1 before and it's got some weird quirks like a neck-thru bolt on, the head looks as if it could be for a 12 string, 1volume 1tone 1 3way, jack, and a coil cut usually but urs looks like it's got a 1volume 1tone for pot1 1volume 1tone for pot2 a 3 way, coil cut, and a jack that's gonna be clustered lol. I think yours is a Epiphone sc-450. Toss a bigsby on there with a good paint job make it more weird i have never seen a scroll that wasn't just stained.

STOP!!!!
That is a piece of history right there, don't go near it with bondo please. And easy on the paint. Some folks look long and hard for one of those, of course, thats the lower end version but still.
Why don't you ship it to me and let me sort it out right for you?

Ever since dragster called me out on that, I go out of my way to doing it
Anyway, this guitar is long gone, I fixed it up nice, left it stock, and gave it back to the dude that gave me it. I would never ever play it lol.

yeah who doesn't like to see some stubby manfeet with hairs on it. Actually looks like you have more hair on your toe than in your face.

stubby? size 12 feet boss
And YES! Much more hair on my feet then my face
I cant grow facial hair yet, and least in appreciable amounts... One day I'll hit puberty.... It was actually awesome in the navy, I only had to shave once every couple weeks

Re: Epiphone Scroll Restoration, NOGD? :D
I believe i purchased this guitar from your friend a while ago. I have souped it up. I have a set of hand wound pups from Matthew Larrivee, I also installed a piezo graph tech ghost system. The original only had one volume and tone control and a coil tap, so someone had tricked it out somehow. So, I set it up with two volume, two tone, two luxe bumblebee capacitors, the piezo with volume control, kill switch for the pups and two separate balanced outs. Also reconditioned the fretboard. What do you think?

- short neck scale
The scale length is 25.5", which is long, like a Strat.
