Ernie Ball Press Release for Petrucci - Here's the lowdown..

Check out the link for latest info on the EBMM/JP signature model. No firm prices are set on the 7-string model yet, but I believe it will list at around $2,200.

http://www.ernieball.com/newstuff/20010115_jp.html

EDITED - click link to work - hard return required after the for it to automate without the IkonCode.

The movies on the eb site were fun to watch.

In all honesty, it doesn’t sound like a bad guitar. John's Ibanez guitars obviously had a great deal of influence on his design specifications. I do hate the look of the headstock though… but that’s just me. It doesn’t look any better to me in Steve M’s hands either.

Oh well, I’ll buy one if they promise it will make me play like John.

Nice videos. *Sure wish they worked.
POSITIVE NOTE: *It's nice to see Sterling with a bass. *That makes me all tingly. *Great guy. *Monster player.

Please tell me the Jpm7 on **** is a joke

Nice guitar the EB/MM, I fell in love with a Trans Gold Axis, last year, with a flame top just like Eddie's, and a tone to die for. But I didn't buy it *

Hope the new EB/MM JPM turns out real good!

Chris.

That **** ad is totally bogus. First off, if he even sold it, which it has been stated before by Rena he wouldnt, he would sell it off his site. Second, dont you think they would have actual pictures, and not a Guitar Mag cover?? Third, even though the seller id is "soundmindmusic", the email addy is earlgoo@aol.com, it would be John's e-mail addy from his site if it was real, dont ya think?? Also, it says used to record Awake......he only had 2 UV's for the Awake sessions, 1 being a UV7BK(in the Lie video), and the other being probably the sweetest UVMC I've ever seen.

Ernie Ball Press Release for Petrucci

quoted from the press release

"The Signature Guitar stands out from other guitars with a new and unique contoured "cradle" in the upper body. "John is very excited about this feature-- it provides players with a new level of comfort and stability for the picking arm. The bridge is also newly designed with a special cover plate that makes for comfortable hand positioning," explained Gimpel"

does this sound like a rip-off of the JEM handrest that was issued with early JEM's?

Quote:
Retail prices are as follows: 6 string standard - $1,995; 7 string option - $200; Piezo option - $350; Signature Color - $400 (no additional charge for matching headstock or stock colors).
Yikes. US$2945 MSRP for a full-blown 7-string with piezo and prismatic paint.

I'm sure it's a fine guitar, but that's a lot of cash.

Let's see... for that amount, you could get a nice RG2027X or a couple of UV's or SEVERAL RG's or a really sweet Tom Anderson or any number of other really nice guitars. I really hope it plays and sounds like nothing else on this earth to justify that price tag.

:sarcasm:
