ESP M-200FM

I just purchased one from a local music store today, and it has to be shipped out from ESP's headquarters in California. I won't be getting it until next week sometime, and I have one question about the neck. I saw that the neck on this guitar is painted and isn't the natural wood like Ibanez RG's and such. Will this neck be slow due to it being painted? If so, is there anything I can do to speed the neck up without sanding it? Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated!

use butter or crisco to lube it up..

ok enough stupid jokes, Some may say it slows them down, I will say this my Carvin from 15 years ago is painted and its the fastest guitar I own(d)

Re: ESP M-200FM

its all up to the player I guess

if your hand sweats then it will create tension I suppose..

I never had a issue, but for the record I like a unfinished neck

Re: ESP M-200FM

I guess I'll just have to wait and see if the neck feels good to me. I haven't bought a guitar with a painted neck before, so I just wanted to ask. I too prefer an unfinished neck. Thanks for the helpful info ibanezcollector, I'll be sure and post some pics when I get it too!

Re: ESP M-200FM

The necks on these particular guitars are indead sticky. If you have gotten used to a oil finished neck it will pale in comparison for you.
