EVH Charvel w/Sustainiac pics!

Here's alittle project Iv'e been working on for the last two weeks and it came out great. I (really my guitar tech) put in a Sustainiac Sustainer in my (overpriced piece of junk to some of you's ) EVH Charvel. I already have a R/W/B and didn't want two of the same guitars and adding a neck pup (acts like one when not activated) to this guitar made it more versital than just a one tone monster that she is. Alan Hoover at Maniac Music is just a fantastic guy to deal with as this was his FIRST attempt to making a Sustainac unit to work with an EVH Charvel. Very little routing was done to this because the circuit board and the 5 way swicth fit into the cavity that was already there..............

Yeah,I have a Chandler body that came like that, too. I kept it like that, to maintain a cartain authenticity, normally I run the stock covers.

The 5 way switch works like this..........

1.(down) bridge
2. neck
3.(middle) Sustainiac on "normal mode"
4. Mix mode
5.(up) Harmonic mode

In the "normal" mode, just like Whispering a Prayer

In "Harmonic" mode, Think at the end of VHs Me Wise Magic or Respect the Wind on the Twister sountrack................

I traded in my Jem7DBK for it and if I told you how much extra cash I paid, the people with the banners on the top of the page would fold (only kidding, but not really). I could have gotten a Jem77BRMR for even cheaper............

Re: EVH Charvel w/Sustainiac pics!

So you can still switch the sustainer from feedback mode to note sustain?

Re: EVH Charvel w/Sustainiac pics!

I don't think anyone here would think these are "junk", but a $2600 list price for a pretty simple guitar just seems a bit steep. Having said that, a very sweet looking axe!
