Fender buys Kaman

Not sure if this was posted already, but thats pretty significant news.
So now they also own Hamer & Ovation.

Found a nice blog article here

http://www.musiccenterofnorwich.com/wordpress/

Sorry if it is old news. Searched and didn't find anything.

Re: Fender buys Kaman

Like the article said, maybe its the high end humbucker guitar to compete with Gibson.

Re: Fender buys Kaman

I didnt read that article, but Hamer seems to have its die hard following and thats about it. Fender already has Jackson and Guild for that. Although they really never let Guild go that route.

I just hope they leave the Hamer USA series alone. I've been jonesing for a Artist Korina with P-90s for a long time.

I noticed they stopped making the Guild electrics. All I see is acoustics on their website. What a shame.

Re: Fender buys Kaman

I miss the Guild Bluesbird

I love my '96 Hamer Special FM. Build quality is second to none IMHO.

I got the "run around" on a factory finish issue during the take over of Tacoma from Fender. Now my toneful Tacoma acoustic is loosing its finish and Fender has left me out in the cold. Hopefully they won't let that happen with all the new aqusitions.

To think FMI almost sold during the last decade or so.

I can help you refinish the Tacoma to a factory look if you want that. Sorry to hear that terrible customer service.

Re: Fender buys Kaman

I seriously doubt that Gibson's "we're looking the other way, wink, wink" deal with Hamer on the Standards will continue now that Fender owns Hamer. If you want a better Explorer, now is likely a good time to grab that Hamer Standard

Re: Fender buys Kaman

I've never really looked at the Hamer website, and didn't know anything about their guitars until recently. But some of 'em do look really nice.

Hamers are nice guitars. Gary Hoey was playing them for a long time before he switched to Fender.
