Fender Gurus, need help!

Hey guys, i was wondering...

Are there any USA strats from the early 90s with only 21 frets and 6 screws bridge?

I was under the impression that anything out of the US, bearing a Nxxxxxx number should be an American Standard, meaning 22 frets / 2 pivot bridge...

But ive seen this one that says Made in USA on the head, and has the features i described...

Any help?

edit: and staggered polepiece "normal looking" single coils...

Nothing in the American Standard line would have those features in that time period but Im pretty certain there were a few signatures and special editions from then that might fit the bill.

57' and '62 re-issues were made from 1990-1993 with your stated specs.
These were American re-issues and not Custom Shop guitars.

In 1991 the Ultra's were American made with 21 frets on an ebony board, but had the 2-point trem with fancy saddles.

Fender was and is notorious for one-off or short-run models, so yours may also be one of those.

I see, cool, this is a creamy white with a very dark rosewood board, owner is gonna send me lots of pics of it from all sides and dissasembled... ill post those when i get them... ive fancied the idea of a strat for a while, we'll see how it goes

Those american reissues are not what fender calls US Vintage series, right? cause those would have a V... serial number...

Too ban Ibanez is not as flexible as Fender in terms of short runs. The guys over at FDP forum got the custom shop to make a special run of 30 strats for the FDP members.

They are but the order has to be made by what's known as an Authorized Ibanez Dealer and the minimum order is over 70 units.
That's why stores in Japan and big guitar chains in the US have "exclusive" models all the time.

Ibanez will be too glad to make 100-300 units of let's say RG2550 in white with a maple fingerboard if someone would order them.
Unfortunately most US guitar stores only bother to order variations of existing cheap Korean/Indonesian made models but they can ask for anything if they wanted.
