Fender Nocaster

Ok, I know these things are something you don't see everyday, but how exactly rare are they? About how many still exist? When did they debue?

I saw a blond one with a black pickguard and maple neck/fretboard this weekend. I also love the toggle switches, the cap looks like a little top hat

Anywho, some information on this would be nice.

I think 51' was the first year of the Nocaster, it might be 52' though.

'51 was the year of the Broadcaster.

'52 was the Nocaster and later that year, the Telecaster name was added.

A former bandmate of mine owns a '52 Esquire which is basicly a Tele with no neck pickup. I've been bugging him to sell it for years but no dice. Springsteen has played one forever.

So how much could you get for one of these?

The paint was starting to flake a bit on the body, and the neck had some funky wear on it, going through the finish I think. Had hardly any rust/corrosion suprisingly though.
