Floyd style bridge with no locking tuners??

Maybe this is common but i`ve never seen it! Saw a nice Yamaha guitar today at a music store that had a Floyd type of bridge with fine tuners and a regular (plastic?) nut. Anyone ever see this on a guitar? It was a very nice guitar, one of the older RGX models from the 90s i guess but the more i thought about it could it be a Yamaha neck on a different body? Pretty weird in a cool way!!!

The nut could be impregnated with teflon. Carvin does that as well.

Thats right! The Tony MacAlpine Sig guitar is one with a Floyd and a non locking nut. I really like the Yamaha,i think i`ll grab it and if i have tuning problems i`ll put some locking tuners on there or block the bridge. I`m not much of a whammy bar user anyway!

Dave Weiner did that recently with one of his LACS customs, but he was also using a ZR bridge. That's actually a nice combo, maybe I should try that...
