G&L Tribute vs MIM Fender

I will soon be in the market for a new guitar. I was looking at the MIM Fenders, specificaly the Classic 50's series. Today I stumbled across some G&L Tribute guitars. Anyone know how they compare to the MIM Fenders?
I'm also looking at PRS SE's but thats a different guitar altogether.

well i'm pretty sure G&L is better than fender in general, my dad has a G&L but not a tribute and i like it more than my usa fender strat, so i would guess tribute would be better

The classic series is actually a very nice guitar, so don't let the MIM fool you. I have no experience with the Tribute series, but like always, play them both if you can and pick the one you like best.

G&L's are very nice. Fender has been putting out very nice guitars lately though.

You decide.

Re: G&L Tribute vs MIM Fender

The build quality of Fender Mexico vs. Korea is extremely comparable these days. So when it comes to the necks and bodies, my opinion is that you have no difference in quality there. What you have to look at is the features/cost and that's where I think G&L Tributes absolutely slaughter the Fender MIM. The pickups are cooler, the bridge is cooler, and the guitar overall speaks to my preferences. If you have to buy sight unseen, get the G&L. If you get the chance to play both and the MIM Fender feels better to you and sounds better (I'll bet it won't) then buy the Fender. But that's the only reason! Otherwise get the G&L. Also, did I mention you should get the G&L?

Unfortunately I can't try before I buy, but the more I look at the G&L Tributes the more I like them. The bridges and pickups on some models look realy nice.

Re: G&L Tribute vs MIM Fender

I think the bridges and pups on the tributes are made in Fullerton, CA just like the USA made G&L's. I own three G&L's and you can't go wrong with them. Then again, my USA Deluxe strat is a fine guitar as well. I've had good expriences and heard good things about both...
