So having Duncans and
scooped mids
means you're living in the past?
Rock on!

Yep, that's Flintstones type sht. To be modern you cant have real PAFs, just pickups that try to give you that PAF sound.

Re: GAS: Choices...
Sometimes Cid does say some schitt that makes sense... The guitar itself is a thing of the past. Most top 40(popular) music today has no guitar in it at all. Kids today look at us like we look at accordian players.

Re: GAS: Choices...
i've wanted to like the
petrucci model
, but it's never really played to my liking or sounded that great. it's all preference for sure as the build quality of the axis i sold was amazing...just like the js guitars i've owned. thing is, i don't really care about the build quality if the neck doesn't feel good in my hands or it doesn't produce the sound i like. sure, i could keep playing it until i get used to it, but why? shouldn't it feel like magic from the start? i guess the best advice is to try them out many times before buying.

Re: GAS: Choices...
Go for the
Petrucci
. The Piezo bridge is something none of the others have, plus they look awesome.
If not that I'd go for the VWH.

Re: GAS: Choices...
As for the future of guitars??? It has more to do with the music that you will play, not the sound you will get or the Termi-tuners ("come with me if you want to tune"). I should have put a new line for the strong mids comment. I didn't want to confuse anyone. I know that that's not a futuristic look at guitar...
Now to sound like even more of a n00b. What is an RK strat??
I have looked at Wayne Guitars (the "green meanie" in particular). But (I understand the quality of the genius that is harmonycentral.com) I have seen some bad reviews about their customer service. And quite frankly, I am in service, and if you suck at service, I won't buy your product regardless of how good it is.
