Good hardtail guitar to add piezo's to.

Whats a good guitar thats relatively inexpensive(in the range of RG550's and such) with a hardtail that I can add a piezo setup to easily.

Maybe some kind of 7 string would do too?

Something I can play as an acoustic and electric without switching back and forth. Any piezo setup thats really close to real acoustic sounds?

ibanez rg421,

kRAMER baRETTA.

bOTH CAN be had for under 300$, and both are a great deal. RG = bolt on, baretta = Neck-thru

Carvin. Used or new. Neckthrough or bolt-on. I just bought a new Bolt Plus guitar kit. The bolt plus is the rear-routed strat bolt neck. GREAT guitar. I saved $200 by getting it in kit form since I do the finishing and assembly. There are tons of good Carvins on e-bay as well.

Whoa... they offer the Bolt + as a kit, too? I haven't seen it on their site.

That might be a fun project.

It isn't listed on their site, you have to call and order the Bolt Plus kit (GK1+). All the options available for the bolt+ are available. I got the M22SD and M22N pickups and jumbo frets. Sperzels are standard with the bolt+ kit, but not the regular bolt kit. With the case it came to about $460.

I'll second the vote for Carvin. The Bolt+ and their neck throughs are also available with a piezo bridge already installed.
