Got A YJM

I just picked up a NOS YJM strat in yellow-blonde with maple neck.
What a great guitar. I'll post pix in a day or so. Man, it sounds great through the Marshall stax.

The only problem for me with the YJM is the scallops. I don't think I could get used to them. While I have a very light touch I think they would screw with me bends.

No trouble with scallops- they're great for bending cause you get under the string.
This one weighs in right at 7.3 LBS so it's the lightest YJM I've ever played.

Personally, I love the guitar but just because it has 3 Dimarzio SC's and a name attached to it doesnt justify the price IMO

IMHO The only true YJM Strats are exactly what you have there, the creamy blonde with maple, all others just look weird, its like seeing a Brian May in anything but Red.

is the action on that like absurdly high or is it just me?

There's a little more to it than that, even so you are right in Clapton or EJ strat range and only a few hundred over a American Deluxe.

Yeah, I mean there is alot to it but the blunt way to look at it is like I said, a scalloped neck strat with Dimarzios and a name on it
