Got My G&L Today!
I got my G&L Legacy Strat today. It's ash body with maple neck. Blueburst finish. I love it. The neck(most important thing on a guitar) is great. Nice large frets finished well with 12" radius. The profile feels like a soft C-shape simular to a Fender 61 reissue.
The pickups are vintage pups and sound warm and sweet. I really like the tone in the mid and neck but I may put a
Dimarzio chopper
in the bridge for a bit more power while keeping the
strat tone
.
Overall I couldn't be happier. Plus I got it from a guy and only paid 535.00 and it's like new!

Re: Got My G&L Today!
Haven't tried a Legacy guitar, but I do have a Legacy L2500 bass, and it's killer... plays smooth, has fat warm tones, and has great fit & finish. Sure the guitar brings an equal amount of love.

It's 100% USA, not an import. In fact the only imports I own are Japan

Re: Got My G&L Today!
Congrats on a great guitar!!!
G&L's are some of the nicest guitars going - particularly if you're after great single coil / P90 tones. I have a modified Legacy, a totally customized S-500 (holding it right now), and an older SC-2. Plus, I have Legacy pups in my
Fender Strat
which totally kill the Noiseless (toneless?) pups it came with...

Re: Got My G&L Today!
Congrats! A guy who works in a
local music store
which i've know for a long time plays G&L exclusively and the store sells them, they are very nice guitars. Any pics?

Re: Got My G&L Today!
I had one, I had all sorts of problems with that guitar.... I had a S-500 with different pickups I believe too, and I really hated them... semi loud for single coils but really thin and anything but fat... of course they could have been replaced, but the guitar wasn't worth it to me.
Hope you have better luck. At least you seem to like it which is all that matters.
