Oh, and it's no longer the Explorer and Flying-V. They're called the "X-Factor" series, which includes the "X-plorer", the "V-Factor" and Firebirds.

Y have gibson not introduced a new model in the last 30 years??? A Gibson strat style with buckers and a trem could lure some js1000 fans away.. (but not many!!) IBANEZ 4 EVA!!!

I think that classifies as an oxymoron...And besides, Gibson doesn't really have an incentive to introduce new models since the company is doing well selling the same guitars that they did 30 years ago...The best thay can do is to hold on to their share of the market and buy other companies along the way...(Kramer, Steinberger, etc...)

Check out the Live Journey DVD from 2002. He plays 3 PRS's and all of them have a Floyd. All McCarty type bodies. Very nice, I'd like to get my hands on one!

You could snag one of those new Epiphone Elite Les Pauls for around $1000 (made in Japan - yeah!) and take it to the shop to have a Lo-Pro Edge installed. That would be interesting.

Looks one heck of a lot cooler than the KH-3.

I like it! Now just release one with that voodoo finish (I love that textured look), make it a Gibson, a 7-string, and drop in a Lo-Pro, and I'll take two.

KH3

Those KH3 guitars wiegh a ton! but at least you feel like your holding a solid piece of wood. that Epi gothic looks a little weedy to be a decent sounding les paul...

The Epi Gothic Explorer might be a little better...but probably only a little.
Besides, i doubt the trems they are gonna put in those models are gonna be much use to anyone. just hope the routing will fit a Lo Pro. But i dont think id go for the whole epiphone gothic thing anyways. the gibsons were the real deal, and they were damn cool guitars.

Like anything I like to play it before I make a decision on it. ALmost no one I know has played a REAL kh-3 most have played the ltd model. BIg difference in quality and looks. Im gonna wait till I play this epiphone and post a review on it. That pic looks done up I think hte body is quite thicker than that.
