Guitar Advice needed
I will get one of these guitars at the end of the month, and i can't decide which one to get...
Which one do u guys recommend?
RG2020XTLB or
RG3120TW?
Any owners of these guitars here?
Damn, i wish i had the money for BOTH. That would make my decision easier.

To me, the Double-Edge is worth more than a maple top... it's more functional. *They're both beautiful guitars, but I would go for the 2020. *Actually, I will go for the 2020 when I get around to buying another guitar.

Thanks for the quick response, Ryan
Assuming i install
PAF Pro
and
Tone Zone
on the RG2020, will there be any difference in tone and sound between the 2020 and 3120? (both mahogany bodies)

Of course every plank of wood will sound a little different, but if they're wired the same way the magnetics should sound very similar.

Man I had the same question about a month ago. I tried both of the guitars out. The one I chose was the 2020 It is such a sweet axe. Dont get me wrong i love a flame top, but piezo is by far the best thing about these guitars. *Plus the side dots on the 3120 are not somthing I desire. *Also the 2020 sounds a little fater to me. Probably because it is all mahogany..
Anyway through those new pickups in there and you wont regret it.

The 2020 I played had a much fatter neck...a matter of preference. *Is the piezo going to get used?

Yeah. Go with the 2020 if youīre prepared to swap the pups!!! I have a 2027 (bought it last summer) and thatīs a beauty. I just had to get new pickups īcause the stock pups sounded horrible. I canīt wait to get my ToneZone7 and Blaze!!

I too have a 2027 and swaped for the Blaze p/u's the thing is my favorite 7-string. The 2020 that I have has more of a U shaped neck than the 2027. Dont let this fool you it is still a very very very fast guitar. Its just dosnt have as slim a neck as say the Jem's. For me I like a little thicker neck anyway. That way its more comfortable in my palm. Just not too big then it slows me down. I would say the 2020 is the perfect medium.

I'd personally go for the 3120. I wouldn't use the peizo's much and I love figured tops.
You should play them both and pick the one you like the most.

Thanks everyone for ur comments
Seems like the RG2020X has a JPM-ish neck and the RG3120 has a JEM-ish neck
Hmmm...

But regarding the
Piezo pickup
....do u guys really use it often?
Besides using it for DT's Scenes From a Memory, i can't think of other uses for it.

Piezo pickups
are ideal for playing all those '80s power ballads!

Go to the 7-string forum.
Thereīs a topic that has a sample of that piezo sound. It sounds REAL!!! Like an original
acoustic guitar
