Heartfield

Sorry for bringing up this thread, but I'm having this discussion somewhere: Some guy claims that these Heartfield guitars are much better than any Ibanez ever produced.

Sure I can imagine that Heartfields are great guitars, made at Fujigen, original Floyd Rose hardware, DiMarzio and Fender (designed) pickups, etc. but I can't imagine that these guitars are múch better than Ibanez guitars, basicly for the same reasons: Both Ibanez and Heartfield guitars are/were made at Fujigen, Ibanez trems have proven their value compared to OFR trems and much of the specs are very alike.

It's probably the worst place to ask this, Jemsite being a Ibanez forum and all, but what do other Heartfield/Ibanez owners think of these guitars?

Havent had any Talons (which would be the more comparable), but for what its worth, both Heartfields i had (an Elan II and a RR5 had extreme build quality and attention to detail. Much, much better than any Ibanez ive had (Sigs, Prestige and standard RGs -> everything except USA or J customs).

Yeah it's really about the Talons actually, Those PRS like guitars aren't really comparable I guess, having a mahogany body and maple top instead of a basswood body.

Very late reply, but, a Talon V is sort of like an RG750 but, with an AANJ and better pickups. Neck is slightly thicker.

Heartfield & Ibanez MIJ models are basically of equal build quality. Just the hardware choices are different and the tones can be a little different because of differing scale lengths and body woods.
