Help! Allen key broken off inside truss rod socket

Haven't posted here for a while, nice to be back

I have a black '88 Charvel Model 4, and it's a rock solid instrument. I wanted to adjust the truss rod today when I discovered that there is the tip of an allen (or hex) key that's broken off inside the truss rod socket.

I also have a Charvel Fusion V bass, and it has exactly the same problem. I cannot adjust the truss rods on either instruments because they are, well, blocked.

What can I do about this?

Did you buy them that way? I'd have to say this sounds extremely unlikely as the force it would take to break off an allen wrench that size is probably more than you could muster. It would round off long before it would break. And to have 2 broken? Pretty long odds. Can you take a close up of the end of the rod?

As it turns out, the truss rods on these old Charvels are meant to be manipulated using a 7mm box wrench, not an allen key. Hence - I shall be getting a box wrench, and we'll see if this fixes the problem!
