Wow David. I am seriously drooling over that guitar! What's your address? My Dad and I are coming down in a couple of weeks for the Maiden show. I think I may have to stop in and borrow that guitar!

I guess that sounds cool... wait, no :P. To be honest, that sounds terrible. I went ahead and tested the tone by wrapping a brick in some velvet and i shot it at my dad - i don't think any instrument could emulate that grunt, not even a recording could do that 3 seconds of audible pain justice.

I hope they sound better than that did :P

PM me close to the gig - happy to catch up with a Jemsiter if I am around (which I most likely will be!) - if nothing else the green Strat gives you a fairly good idea of Warmoth's craftsmanship!

And, yeah, I guess a brick wrapped in velvet may not be the holy grail of tone! Still, Danny Gatton swore by Barden pickups for his Tele wrangling, and players don't really get better than the late great Danny G!

Cheers

David

However, the one thing I can NEVER get enough of on this guitar is that neck pickup... it sings, cries, yells, purrs... it does EVERYTHING perfectly. It can be buttery and creamy, or really single-coil like... and the set's got that elusive quack I'm always in love with.

Oh yeah, did I mention no 60 cycle hum? Well, it's there TECHNICALLY, but it's been reduced by something like 98% or so I'm told.
I have the Hot Noiseless in my surf green partsocaster. If you're looking for super high gain and metal distortion, buy a Les Paul with EMGs. For clean to Plexi-crunch, the Hot Noiseless are the best I've tried that fit my criteria (white or aged covers, exposed polepieces and no blades).

If you can afford it. Kinman pickups are the best. Its noiseless and it also retains the strat characteristics.
u kidding? dull? i had an american deluxe strat and the pickups had LOADS of treble. i had to roll the tone knob down
