Holy Pricing Yikes on the ESP Kamikaze 20th

Got this back from DCGL today when I asked about pricing and availability:

ESP is only making 12-of these for The USA Market

We are getting only one total

We sold it for $ 8,999.00

I don't know what makes less sense to me, the $8999 price or that someone has already bought it.

Lol those must be diamond inlays or something for the additional 5-6 grand or so!!

Man, I remember when I thought any guitar over 3 grand was nutz.

I love the guitar, but 9k? You could get a used Kamikaze and have the same inlays done for how much less? It won't come with all the extra stuff but damn, here I was thinking the JEM 20th is expensive...

Dee..... I guess we're just missing the boat. Well, this makes two guitars I won't be getting!

Heck you could buy two for that price and have all the inlays done, bombs, plane, and Japanese lettering!

Re: Holy Pricing Yikes on the ESP Kamikaze 20th

I thought it might have been even a little more expensive actually.

For a very limited edition, ESP custom shop guitar with all the trimmings, I am not suprised at all. And there are die-hard ESP collecters out there would pay it no questions asked. Just go to the ESP forums and see some of those guys collections, just amazing.

But as Dee said, it will be thousands cheaper just to buy a regular Kamikaze and get the inlays done. It will probably play just as well.

Boca Rotan? Do you work at Synergy?

If so, you guys must be the biggest ESP dealer on the East Coast.
I spoke to the owner a few weeks ago about an ESP Kami 2. He was really polite and cordial on the phone. His selections on ESP's is outstanding.
It's amazing how a little bit of politeness goes along way.

Too bad E.R. in Vegas doesn't realize that. I called him about purchasing a Schon a few years ago and he is a F'ing A'Hole. And that is what I remember, and that is why let others know.

I havent been In the music retail business for about 7 years now. I moved on from a marketing position at Sam Ash (was there for 10 years) and into marketing for the Mortgage/Banking industry. I was just passing on some pricing info I got from DrumCity Guitarland when I asked about the GL20.
