$9999 ......

I'd get ESP to make my own custom with that kind of money

ESP would probably get you two custom guitars for that kind of money. I could probably get the EXACT same guitar as the KH20 without Kirk's signature on it and still have $5000-$6000+ left over.

I'm wondering how much of a cut does Kirk get out of these KH20's.

So nobody is with me on those regualr KH-2's? I wanted one bad when I was a kid! The more expensive models seem a little fluffed up...

My EC-1000 is getting shipped tomorrow. Who knows, if it's really nice I may have to look at getting another one or maybe one of the H series or something. There new models this year are pretty nice looking guitars.

Re: how does esp fair against ibanez?

When I ordered my MII UC a few years ago, they told me it would be at least 6 months. I got it two months later.

I like a lot of the Ibanez stuff, but that ESP *was* one of my best playing guitars, until yesterday.

ESP puts out some great stuff, and I wish they had a few more appealing options for what I like, but they have a bunch of guitars that are really great for the money.

Out of every ESP and LTD I've played, they were all above par, and I only have played a very few LTDs (very low end models) that were not so great.

Well I can tell you this. I played one (the red one) a few months ago, and I was pretty blown away with it. I am a huge fan of a 60 in the neck.

I'm getting the Amber Sunburst, which has the JB/59 combo. I've got the EMG Zakk Wylde set in a Kramer LP and too be honest, I think I prefer passive pickups.

I like the vintage version w/ the JB/'59 combo. I also wouldn't mind a vintage BLK w/ the actives just to have one two hum EMG guitar around. They look sweeet!!

Did yours arrive yet mfergel?

http://www.espguitars.co.jp/original/index.html

Are all of these Original Series and made to order?

In that case, there's no Standard Series in Japan, I'm assuming? I can't find the sub-page for it anywhere on the japan site.

Some of their models are unusual compared to the US ones as well - for example, the Original Series Vipers are all bolt-on instead of set or neck-thru. I wonder why.

You are correct, there is no standard series in Japan. The Standard series are NOT made to order and are actually pre-made and shipped to the US for distribution. As for the Vipers being all bolt-on's that's probably due to market research into the Japanese Domestic market

If you're going to Tokyo, there's a Big Boss shop there. They're like a super huge ESP dealer. Check 'em out.
