There is one on "that site" and it's up to $630.00
with 6 days to go!!! How often do these come up for sale?
I saw one at Tusclum Music here in Nashville, Tn years ago..

Doesn't look like anything special from the pics I found in google. It reminds me of an aria-pro II guitar (a friend of mine in high shcool used to have one of those).

Re: How rare is the Washburn EC-29??

I own one, they are quite rare, actually the George Washburn EC-29 extended cutaway was more expensive back in the day and it's better than the 36 fret since the EC-29 has HS configuration vs H on the EC-36.
The guitars play extremely well and it is a shame they aren't around anymore.
The last one I saw went for over a grand so I would not be surprised if sells for around $1200.

Using just pics to give an opinion about the guitar is kinda lame! play one (if you can find one that is) and then we'll talk....

No need.... I just don't think the guitar is anything special period. It's too bad my opinion bothered you that much, next time I'll keep my mouth shut.

Re: How rare is the Washburn EC-29??

Funny, I just sold a minty EC-29 on "that site" a couple weeks ago that had a BIN of $1250 - I probably could have gotten a lot more fot it, too. It was a very nice guitar, it was in near perfect shape and was just set up. The active electronics were pretty nice, too. But I really had no use for 29 frets, and I don't really dig the crackle paint jobs, although this one was red and black, so it had kind of a cool lava look to it. But, I got it as part of a trade, and have more than made my investment back, and still have another guitar to boot.

Some people like them, so if it's worth that to them, then they'll pay it. It was kinda cool and unique, but didn't really do it for me. Although, just for the record, I will say it's a whole lot nicer than any Aria I've ever seen or played.

Hey Jimmy,

It did not bother me, I'm sorry if I came across that way, you are entitled to your opinion regardless, I just felt it isn't fair to opinionate on guitar you've never played and contrary to your belief it is "special" how many guitars are out there that are neck through and have 29 frets and sound and play great...??? I rest my case.

Nice Penguins!!! How much did you get for it if you don't mind me asking?
your BIN was very fair, I personally wouldn't have sold it for less than $1300
I wish I had known you were selling it and I would have been glad to take it off your hands.

Re: How rare is the Washburn EC-29??

I got the $1250 - it sold so fast I was kinda pissed at myself that I sold it that cheap. But like I said, I more than did well on it. I almost listed it here, but since I had little to no interest in most of the Ibanez stuff I listed last month, I figured I'd just go straight to evilbay since I can't list in both places. I had actually seen one in not nearly as nice shape go for around $1100 right before I posted mine, so I should've figured I'd get more, but I've also seen them get no interest at $900 starting price, so you never know.

I want to say it's a little thicker, closest to the Satriani. Of course it pretty much sat in the case in the year or so I had it, so I can't say for sure, but I seem to recall being surprised that it wasn't super thin. It did have the Stephen's Extended Cutaway, like the Nuno N4 guitars, so the higher frets were very accessible.

The neck is nothing like a Wizard or a JS 1000 neck, it is a bit similar to a wizard II in radius. the cutaway allows perfect access to all 29 frets.
I ditched the active electronics for a Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge and single Humbucker lil screamin 59 Duncan on the neck and now the guitar has equal output on both the neck and bridge position pups and sounds and plays like a million bucks!!!

Yeah, I always forget about the Wiz II, that seems more like what I remember.

I will say that once I had it set up properly, it played very nicely. But, again, it didn't really fit what I want to play.
