I did it! My first guitar of 2008 is on its way...
YES! This is going to be my first (and maybe only) guitar for this year!
After several months trying to resist, saying that this guitar is too expensive and that I clearly don't need another one... I ordered it...
My new
EBMM Petrucci
BFR will arrive soon!!!!
I will certainly sell some gear to justify the price tag on this one but anyway... we are working hard during the year, I think it's good to be rewarded!!
It will complement very nicely my regular EBMM JP model. It's a 2005 limited edition model in buttercream color, but I think the BFR is different anough (woods, D-sonic, electronic, shape...) to justify having both!!
By the way as I have a new video camera, here is a small sample of my 2005 model...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJh_OJgljE4
Happy new year everybody

Thanks....
I play through a Hughes & Kettner Attax 80, with a Damage Control Solid Metal pedal in front of it...
I like the sound of this guitar... I'm wondering how does the D Sonic sounds like...

Until I post my own pictures, here it is on the site you all know
item number: 270199884789
Usually I like
flame maple
better, but this one in particular looks amazing... and I feel that in real it could even look better!

Not meaning to hijack the thread but I'm curious, The BFR doesn't have the normal forearm scoop that the regular JP model has does, it?
BUT - Does the BFR also have a larger lower cutaway, with a thinner bottom horn?

No it doesn't have the scooped forearm... that is great by the way... My view on that (despite the EBMM speech) is that it has to do with the maple top on the BFR... maybe to difficult to do the scooped forearm....
And yes the 2 horns have been slightly modified...

Thanks Casper, I thought the shape looked a bit sleeker than the normal model. I really like the shape of this guitar and am now going to snoop around the net looking for info. That can mean only one thing... GAS ATTACK!!!

That is one seriously nice guitar, congrats! Can I just ask, whats the deal with the switches on the guitar? They look pretty interesting, I assume the bottom one is pickup selecter, but what about the top one,
coil tap
perhaps?

No the top one is the piezo selector... Piezo alone / piezo + magnetic / magnetic alone.
Very versatile guitar indeed!
