Re: I got this for $15.

I remember seeing this guitar on e.b.a.y. before. I can't remember what it went for.

Don't be fooled by plywood. Have you checked out Gibson's Zoot Suit guitar? The whole thing is made of birch plywood...including the neck. They stained each thin sheet a different color and then laminated all the sheets together to form one thick piece of wood. I can't believe that Gibson wants that much for a Birch plywood guitar. I'm actually thinking of building all my guitars out of plywood and charging a butt-load for them. Just joking.

If I were you I'd just modify the headstock. See if the logo will rub off with some thinner and put your own logo on it, but leave everything else as it is. Then switch out the hardware and electronics for quality parts and turn this thing into a killer guitar...but with the cheesy paint job. Would be kinda funny, you know.

One of my favorite guitars of all time is a guitar made out of plywood that I got when I was a kid. It had a plywood body, but a 24 fret jackson style neck. Not a bad score for $15.
