Cool

I was looking for an RG550, but then I saw this...

...and just had to have it!

2007 Maverick Streetfighter Limited Edition. Only 4 of these in existence, and one is mine, bwahaha. One is being kept by Chris at GuitarZone, so there's two left.

I'm sure this will polarise opinion, but IMO this is the finest looking maple boarded superstrat I've ever seen. Loving the reverse headstock and that colour. Beats the pants off an RG550 in all departments IMO, with the possible exception of the trem. That said, although the Maverick trem looks like a Lo-TRS II, that's where the similarities end. It's actually very good.

Specs are:

2 piece select American Alder body
Canadian rock maple neck/fingerboard
Maverick "XTreme" high output humbuckers
Evolution Volume/Tone pots
Fireburst finish (ala F3)

The guitar also features Maverick's "fret vents", which are basically just holes going through the neck, instead of inlayed position markers. Serves no useful purpose, but it's uber cool to look at!

I'm a big fan of Mavericks, but i've been waiting for something as special as this for a long time. It's cool to know that's it's exclusive, what with only 4 of them having been made (at the request of Chris), but I reckon this spec would go down a storm if they put it in production.

I'd be interested to hear people's opinions.

It's not for me, but it doesn't matter what I think. If you like it, then it's all good!

True, but it's interesting to know what other people think. It's always interesting to me how different people's tastes can be when it comes to guitars.

I don't know what it is about these guitars, but the whole package just does it for me in a big way.

I was looking at Maverick guitars website. I must admit the tone and volume controls have grown on me. Very innovative.

Yeah, they're great for volume swells, violining etc... Never quite mastered the pinky technique on a regular pot personally. One thing that could be improved on the Mavs is the taper of the tone pot - most of the EQ seems to happen in the last 50% of it's rotation. Linear taper pot perhaps?

Wow, I love that Maverick. It looks like an RG plus JS morphed into one, with a maple fretboard and a reverse headstock. For me, that's the perfect guitar.

My sentiments exactly! Sure is a beauty.

There's 2 left if you want one! Info and different pics at http://www.guitarzone.co.uk/catalog/...0285d6f1c711cf

£599 sounds like a lot when you convert it to $s though. $1,217.82!

Looks fine, though it doesn't have me jumping up and down or anything I like the look of the tone and voume knobs, though I'd need to play with them for a while to decide if I actually liked using them or just their look. I'm also not a fan of reverse headstocks, though I like a nice maple board. Enjoy her!

I would like to have one, but I'm not buying another guitar until I can play it firsthand.
