Re: I'll show you mine if you show me yours (Strats)

Just got this thing yesterday, warmoth body with chameleon paint (purple/blue/red/green depending on the light), EMG DG20 David Gilmour pickups. It'll get a bridge swap and I'll probably swap the Schallers for Sperzels but other than that it's perfect.

I just sold off a dozen instruments..

I'm putting this one through the paces to decide whether to acquire it or not..

So far I'm very impressed..

Re: I'll show you mine if you show me yours (Strats)

It is funny/ironic how time and age changes tastes. I used to hate strats with passion because they felt like poo. Now I can't get enough of them. The feel and sound from them is amazing. However, I am still drawn to ibanez.

My Plus Deluxes is the best feeling/playing/sounding guitar I think I have ever played. It is one of those that I know I will not get rid of. I would be keeping my new American Deluxe but kinda need to cash for other things in life.

Beautiful strats folks.

Re: I'll show you mine if you show me yours (Strats)

Here's my pair:

The black one is a 2007 deluxe, but the pickguard was hideous (gold coloured thing) and the stock pickups didn't do it for me, so they were replaced with BKP Holy Diver and a pair of trilogies. This is my loud strat!

The other is a bitsa, and continually evolving. The most recent change is the bridge which was replaced with a Callahan. It doesn't look it in this picture but the guitar is nicely battered these days.

2004 Fender Standard Strat in Sage Green Metallic. Not my most expensive guitar, but one of the best playing strats I've ever found

Re: I'll show you mine if you show me yours (Strats)

My baby, a 1976 Fender Stratocaster I've owned since Day One. My dad spent $400 for this guitar in mid 1977 when I was a 14 yr old punk-ass kid. All original except for the Seymour Duncan Hot Wax center pick up I installed sometime in the late 80s. The original center pick up is in storage in So Cal along with my late 70s 50w Marshall head and Sun 6x12 bottom.

If anyone has a mid 70s center pick up for sale let me know as I have no idea when I'll get back to So Cal to dig out the original one.

This guitar has slumbered peacefully in its case for almost 13 years except for the few times I felt like playing some Hendrix/Trower. Lower action than either of my JEMs and the neck is smooth as silk.

Re: I'll show you mine if you show me yours (Strats)

Here's my 2. They're both MIM.

The black one is a Deluxe Fat Strat about 5yrs old, JB in the bridge and 2 Tex Mex & Lic FR. Big thick 70's neck too.

The white one is the Waynes World 2 from about '96 (I guess). I replaced the stock pick ups with JB jr (b), Duckbucker (m) & Lil 59 (n). The switching has two modes. The middle pot is push/pull. In the push it's standard 5 way switching and in pull position 1 & 5 is neck & bridge, position 2 & 4 is all 3 on & position is 3 middle. Oddly enough there is no coil tap.
