Its New Guitar Day!!!!!!

I just happen to stop by a local music shop not too far from my place and I stumbled apon 3 FULLY Assembled Carvin Bolt Kits. Now being the Carvin lover that I am I had to play all 3 of them. Ive actually assembled 3 of these for friends of mine in the past but only played them for a short moment. But after playing them for about 20 minutes, I picked the best playing one and traded my OLP Baritone for it and some cash. Its in perfect condish!
So yea Im off to play my new guitar!

I love it! Its just not for me. I like a Lo-Pro trem. The Axis isnt really compatable for one. And their is no contour for your forearm. I need that.

The YJM Strat is a totally different thing. For me its like apples and oranges. I cant compair the two. Its almost like compairing Acoustic to Electric, for me anyways.

Re: Its New Guitar Day!!!!!!

That's just plain scary,..Seeing my exact guitar there

The YJM strat in same color with white straplocks.

Indeed I have to agree,.. it's apples and oranges with any other guitar.

What are your feelings about it ?
Mine have always been a bit double:
1. I LIKE the way it plays
2. I like the way it sounds ( the sound )
3. I dislike the way it sounds ( the output )
4. I dislike the feel of the trem ( My hand get's caught on it )
5. It looks so damn big

Have you made any changes or have any ideas with regards to these things ?

Re: Its New Guitar Day!!!!!!

I like it the way I have it now. The mods and all.
I have schaller locking tuners, Graphite saddles and nut, Dimarzio Fast Track 2 in the bridge. Pearl Guard.

The only thing I wish was different was the bridge. I wish it was the American bridge not the syncronized one with the 6 screws. The American has 2 anchors like a Wilk or Floyd. Other than that I love it!

Re: Its New Guitar Day!!!!!!

Was replacing the nut a hassle ? And did it damage the neck ( since it was lacquered after placing the nut )

The slot for the D string is too wide on mine.

( was thinking about the saddles too, since they are so rough on a vintage trem )
