Jackson and Fender

anyone know why Fender bought Jackson? I just found out like last year but never found out why they got bought out. I fugure cause Fender can't make or sell a agressive looking and sounding guitar like Jackson can. Was Jackson hurting financialy?

Jackson definitely has a name in the metal guitar realm but fender is capable of selling aggresive looking guitars * the strat was once *extremely* aggressive in nature.
