Re: Jackson DK2M. Any thoughts?

One of my students has one. It plays great and has Duncans in it.

Very cool guitar, especially the Snow White finish... had one but regretted selling it so I picked up the Eerie Dess Swirl a few months ago.

Awsome axe!
Swap the trem for an OFR. That's all!

I'm on my 2nd one of these. Personally, I think you'd be wasting your money and/or time in swapping the bridge. When the DK2M model came out, they upgraded the Jackson bridge construction design (not that it was that bad to begin with). It stays in tune and feels good. The guitar is stage ready as is.

You should give the LFR a chance first. Might be good... Since you can get an OFR any time.

Re: Jackson DK2M. Any thoughts?

To clear a few things up...

I believe the older ones came with duncan design pups. The new ones have genuine SD's.

Also....the older trems did have softer base plates. The newer models now have a hardened/harder baseplate. I have one and think it is a great guitar....especially for the money.

For the money, this is the guitar I would recommend for someone just starting out. Having said that, experienced players will enjoy this guitar as well.

I was going to replace the trem...but there is no need. I upgraded the bar to a genuine floyd part. Initially the bar wouldn't not stay put. But after some use, it fixed itself. By the time the replacement bar arrived it was a non issue. I replaced it anyway.

I say go for it....good guitar.

I wish they came in a hardtail version . . . I'd grab one.
