Re: Jackson prices going up
Yeah everyone is raising their prices plus the yen is really strong.
Ibanez,
Fender
and Gibson all raised their prices in 2009...
From IbanezRules:
"is absolutely killing the Dollar, as well as many other world currencies. A strong Yen means high prices on Japanese exports, and Ibanez makes their third round of price increases in a one year span. This increase, is the largest in recent memory, with some models reaching levels that put them at competitive disadvantage in their class, most notably the AR300 with it's $533 increase to $3866, a whopping 16%. JEM and JS prices go up $266 on average, and some of the new models coming in at a full $500 more than the similar models they replace, ie. the 3570 replacing the 2570 at $666 increase, with the Dimarzio pickup set and color matched head as the only notable difference. All new models come in at the new rates while all existing model increases take effect on 2/1/2009, so if there's an existing model you've been thinking about, grab it now! Not the best of news in uncertain times, but after a quick walk around some other manufacturers booths, seems like everything is on the rise. When was the last time anything went down, besides the value of your house?"

Fender artist series strats went up $500!! this is whacked, good thing I bought mine lastyear.
Jacksons kick ass,but the prices are getting out of control for me.It may deter me from buying one anytime soon.

Re: Jackson prices going up
That's right, prices here are a little more crazy than they already were - a JS1000 or JS1200 that used to be £999 jumped up to £1499 last month and is now between 1433 and 1477. That's a 50% increase. Prestige series guitars are also up £100-200. Fortunately, Jackson prices have not seen similar price increases.

Re: Jackson prices going up
When I was in Japan a while back it was over 200 yen to the pound. Earlier this year it was closer to 100!
Be glad that the shift has only caused the increases we're seeing. The pound is starting to bounce back (slowly) but I wonder if the prices will bounce back too

That makes no sense. If prices go up, do you think your used guitar's value would somehow go down?

I havn't noticed much increase in Jackson guitars though.
