Jackson PS-4 copper bridge

I have a PS-4 and it has a copper bridge. I can see this through the paint.
It sounds like a big ES-335, because the metal is so soft. Does any body know how to fix this? I put an EMG-85 in the bridge already.

Copper? I don't think so.

It's probably some kind of steel alloy that has a bit of copper and tin that might give it a brassy tint. What kind of bridge is it?

It's a J-500. The part that holds the bar stripped into the bridge. When I took plyers to it, it showed copper all down thru it. The guitar sounds real round & funky.

I looked down thru it, it's got a heavy copper plating. It still sounds funny.

Copper plating is very different from solid copper. It may have a very thin layer of copper plating over the steel as part of the electroplating process. Solid copper is too soft to make something like a guitar bridge out of.
