If it is a problem interfering with what you are installing, find out what screw it is and get a shorter screw from the hardware store.Problem solved.

I have the same in a MIM fender strat. I always assumed that it had something to do with the earth wire.

that's what i'm figuring. i just wanted to know if it was a major problem or not before i go in and install 200 bucks worth of equipment on a faulty guitar
