Killer Explorer deal for Europeans

As guitars tend to be a lot cheaper in the US/Canada, this might not seem like much for the folks on the other side of the pond, but I was really, really surprised to see this kind of prices in Europe: http://www.musik-produktiv.de/gibson...agoni-top.aspx
Gibson Guitar of the Week #13, Explorer Pro for 699 euros. Regular Explorers go for 1000-1400 euros here, depending on the color.

I'm not sure how many they have in stock but I would think that not too many since GOTW batches are only 400 guitars each. I snagged one and got an order confirmation today, I've been wanting an Explorer since I was a kid and this seemed like a price that is hard to beat. Needless to say I'm psyched

As far as I can tell the only difference construction-wise is that the GOTW model has a mahogany top instead of a maple top.

It has a smaller body than the Standard Explorer.

I sold my last Explorer to a chap in the UK for $1000 US shipped that was basically new.

I'm on the prowl for a new white Standard Explorer but my supplier won't have any until March

Re: Killer Explorer deal for Europeans

Well, UPS man brought the guitar today. Long story short, looks like an amazing axe. Being mostly a superstrat person I thought the shape might take a while to get used to, but not really. The shape feels fine as does the scale length, the only things that I don't yet feel comfortable with are the slightly sticky nitro-finished neck and the TOM bridge (I've gotten used to resting my hand on top of Edge/Edge Pro). Couldn't see any quality control issues at all, the thing was even properly tuned and intonated out of the box.

The obligatory pics:

Re: Killer Explorer deal for Europeans

Thanks everybody. The price of the guitar itself was 681€ (when sold to Finland, the final price seemed to vary depending on the destination country's tax rates), shipping was 20€, and I chose Cash on Delivery instead of Visa which was another 12€, so the total was 713€.
