Korean Mahogany and Japanese Mahogony - same or different

Is there a big difference in the sound between the Korean and Japanese S series models? *I know the bridge and pickups are inferior in the Korean model, but if I swap the humbuckers with Duncans or DiMarzios, do you think it'll have better sound than the japanese model?

If you put a good Dimy/Duncan on a Korean, it would play even better than a Japanese.
Difference between Korean/Japanese it's just a matter of build quality, more than a matter of sound.

None of the current S models are made in Japan, they are all Korean-made.
